After baking cakes, it was time to bake some cookies. Recipe credits: Tickling Palates

Ingredients
1 cup of all purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 cup or 100 gms butter [room temperature]
1/2 cup of brown sugar
1/4 cup white granulated sugar
1 tsp of vanilla essence
1/2 cup chocolate chips +2 tbsp
2 tbsp milk

Method:

Take butter and sugar [brown +white] in a bowl and mix them together with a spatula till the sugar softens. Add vanilla essence to the butter-sugar mixture and mix well.
Sieve the flour and baking powder in a bowl. To this mix 1/2 cup of chocolate chips. Add this mixture to the butter sugar mixture and mix well with a spatula till the dry ingredients gets incorporated. Note: In case the dough does not form, add 1-2 tbsp of milk to the mixture. Place the bowl in the refrigerator till dough turns firm say at least for 15 – 20 minutes. Keep aside a plate with remaining chocolate chips spread on it.

After you take out the dough from refrigerator make marble or little bigger sized balls. Press these balls slightly between your palms and flatten them. Press each cookie onto the chips from plate and place them on a baking tray lined with parchment paper leaving about 2" space between themLet the tray rest in the freezer for 5 -7 minutes. Note: Keep the shaped cookies in the freezer if you do not want flattened cookies. The dough will be able to hold its shape well while baking if placed in the freezer.
Remove the tray out and bake them in preheated oven at 180 deg C for 15-20 minutes . Note: Oven times may vary. Take them out and allow them to cool for 5 minutes on the tray. Transfer them on cooling rack to cool down completely. Once cooled store them in an air tight container.

Happy Baking !
